Dr. Richard Braniff is the owner and director of Counselor Effectiveness Seminars and a Certified SASSI Trainer. He is committed to providing quality workshops that promote professional competence, personal confidence, and practice effectiveness. His areas of expertise include assessment strategies for substance abuse and dependence, family dynamics, advanced counseling techniques, and resolving ethical dilemmas and conflicts. He maintains a private practice working with addictive disorders, co-occurring disorders, and family conflicts. He serves as a therapist and consultant to Jefferson Oaks Behavioral Health, Inc. Addictive Disorders Intensive Outpatient Program and to the Chiron Wellness Center's Suboxone Treatment Program.
Dr. Braniff has over 30 years experience in professional counseling, consultation, and professional development training. He is a Board Approved Supervisor for the Louisiana Licensed Professional Counselors Board. He served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor for the Counseling Graduate Program at the University of New Orleans for 11 years where he taught Substance Abuse Counseling, Family Counseling, Theories of Counseling, Advanced Counseling Techniques, and Internship courses. He also served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Counseling and Human Development at Southeastern Louisiana University for four years.
